Community Testimonies

We invited guest judges to participate in a community testimony, a group oral history project to record a dialogue on contemporary issues affecting the island nations.

The oral history recording of the conversation was added to Law Library Archive's Pacific Island Committee Collection to be available online for students, researchers and the public who are interested in learning about legal issues in the Pacific.  The recording documents shared conversations among those present at the exhibit gathering, "to foster reciprocity and responsibility, dialogue and relationship building, to humanize the issues and people in discussion" (Oral History and Education: Theories, Dilemmas and Practices, 346).

The conversation was facilitated by Dr. Troy J. H. Andrade  and his students that were part of the Ulu Lehua Scholars:

  • Lydia M.S. Fuatagavi of American Samoa
  • Bev Simina of Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia
  • Rockyner Hadley of Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia
